Hi, I’ve tried that and it can’t be found. I suspect it may be cause your app is only open to a particular market?

    Hi,

I’ve downloaded some apps off Android Market, so it does support Singapore. However, it might not be the case if it is a paid app. Is xarchive paid?

    Thanks for your help!

This app is the first app I’ve paid for and it is completely worth it. One feature, that the other free solutions have (such as SMS Backup by Christof Studer, is to automatically mark the messages as READ on Gmail. I had to set up filters on my Gmail account to get this done automatically.

    Hi,

I bought this app yesterday, and the download fails every time I try. I’m in France and your app is in the market, no problem with that. I’ve tried and re-tried, nothing to do, I have the message “échec du téléchargement”.

    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for downloading our apps.

If you cannot download it at all, you have to consult the currier in France (T-mobile, I guess?).

Is it possible to automatically backup files other than messages and pictures? I have a lot of recorded notes that I would like to backup as well. If so, I will buy this immediately! If not, is there any chance of adding this soon?
Also, is it going to pop up notifications every time it sends something? And if so, is it possible to disable the notifications?

I think that writing the gmail password in an thirdy-party application is very unsafe… why don’t you use the google authentication?

  19. admin
    May 8th, 2010 at 10:38 | #19

We do not collect any user information. Yes, it is a good idea to use google authentication. But it will make the UI process unfriendly.

I purchased this application today, I think it’s very useful. I started my initial backup of my SMS on gmail, only 25 as a test and everything worked fine. But clumsy me accidentally deleted that label from online. Well I started the back up again, and the app recreated the label for me, but it’s not backing up those first 25 messages. How can I get the app to back up those first set of messages?

Right that’s why I came to your website because it’s been less the 24hrs and I didn’t want to be charged 2x’s just to reinstall an app.

I love this product, but I have a question. My MMS messages are not always readable? I need all of these messages time and date stamped and with the text included in the message without it being a google doc or some other program that has to open to maybe view it. I need help! I need to be able to use these messages for court cases. Am I doing something wrong or is there anything that I can do to get this fixed?

Great App. Could I make a few suggestions?

    MMS
The MMs backup does not organise MMS like sms. It would be great if it did this. For example, “MMS from John” just like the “SMS from John”.
Also, some MMS are in gmail as being sent from me to me. This is wrong because they were from a friend. This friend’s SMS work fine though.

MMS and SMS – Thread Date and Time
The dates of threads are when they were backed up and NOT when the text messages where sent. This is despite the messages in the thread having the correct dates.

I presume you are using the K9 code. The thread dates are set to the
current time if no date is specified in the appendMessages() method called on the
folder. This is specified in the rfc3501 section-6.3.11.

Is there a proper method in the K9 mail code that implements the full append part of the IMAP specification? I had a quick search but could not find such a method.

There is a thread on this topic at: http://code.google.com/p/android-sms/issues/detail?id=66

    Keep up the good stuff.
    Thanks

A hack around the bad date implementation in the code is to use outlook as IMAP.
Then move all the sms emails out of ALL MAIL and onto locally stored folder.
The move them back to gmail and they should have the correct date for each thread.

    Cheers

Needs a Mark as Read Option, Please!

Also I would love to have the option to set how many hours it should backup. like, 1h, 2h, 3h, 6h, 12h. and so on.

Would like to have an option to pick what folders to sync Photo’s from, and/or what folders to exclude?

Love this app, Thanks a bunch!

    July 15th, 2010 at 06:30 | #34

In addition to the excellent suggestions from SamA, would it be possible to have the application actually delete SMS/MMS messages ?

I’d really love to be able to set the app to delete all messages (SMS+MMS) older than x weeks. And for this to be run as part of each backup.

  35. admin
    July 15th, 2010 at 08:36 | #35

That is a good idea. But “deleting messages” is sort of out of the line. If a user just unintentionally click delete all SMS/MMS, that would be a disaster.

I don’t know if you have been looking at the comments in the android market, but alot of people are having problems with this because it is not compatible with Froyo. Is there a timeline for when this is going to get fixed along with the other bugs in the software?

    Thanks, Marshall Simmons

    2. Use WiFi connection instead of 3G
    3. Reboot your phone.
